踏出舒適圈，接受挑戰，成就未來的自己
不諱言，小二的Ethan未有能力寫稿及將英文句型應用自如，但願意接受挑戰，踏出舒適圈，是一種生活態度的展現。
2022.12.31接到Ethan 媽媽來電，說明Ethan想參加同濟會舉辦的演講比賽。但過去比賽經驗倚重『死記硬背』，整體表現顯得僵硬，所以希望能夠透過遠距上課來引導Ethan了解演講內容、單字解釋、句型分析、練習肢體語言。
不諱言，小二的Ethan未有能力寫稿及將英文句型應用自如，但願意接受挑戰，踏出舒適圈，是一種生活態度的展現。駱駝寫好講稿後，立即和Ethan媽媽講解內容及寫作時的考量。對於Ethan，駱駝將每個單字及名詞透過各種換句話說、圖片輔助，解釋到讓小二的Ethan明瞭快時尚及其衍伸的環境問題。
不死背，用孩子語言一起用中英文探索未知領域使枯燥乏味的議題也變得有趣。
稿中不乏專有名詞 及同學最不擅長的數目表達，駱駝不是故意刁難同學，而是希望同學能利用數據，透過具體例證 來說服他人買單自己的論點而非講講空話而已。
除了單字外，句型應用和文法教學也要用小二的語言和同學溝通。透過Ethan已知的生活情境搭配講稿內的文法、句型造很多例句，慢慢得再延伸到講稿內容，告訴他只是換單字而已，內容便不顯的生硬複雜。
Ethan起初覺得挑戰，非常沒有自信。幾次上課後，他認份地為自己所追求的比賽負責，課堂中積極參與課程並且樂於發問，課後也願意配合大量練習。
練習過程中，駱駝親自在Line上錄音、陪伴並且針對媽媽回傳的練習影片調整發音、語速、手勢等。不僅讓Ethan能隨時複習，更是家長陪伴練習的最佳指引。
很感謝新竹的家長選擇高雄的駱駝英文，雖未能見面上實體課，駱駝和Ethan及爸爸媽媽一樣共享這份獲獎的光榮感。
此次演講比賽是Ethan主動想參加兼具挑戰，孩子既然想做，駱駝和家長一樣是給予無限支持。
再次感謝家長選擇目標導向、陪伴學習的駱駝英文，也謝謝Ethan是個積極負責勇於挑戰的孩子。
儘管名次不是最好，但努力的過程絕對是這輩子難忘的體驗。
Ethan小二英語演講比賽講稿全文：
Today, I am going to talk about what we wear and where we live. When it comes to saving our planet, what’s the first thing on your mind? Is it air pollution from cars or scooters?
Guess what. After oil, the second largest polluter in the world is on us. Eight to ten percent of global greenhouse emissions comes from the fashion industry, and this is more than airplanes and ships altogether. Each year, around eighty to one hundred and fifty billion garments are made and sold. Sadly, about 60 percent of all clothes made goes to incinerators or landfills just within a few years of being made. To make clothes cheap, but still make money, many clothing companies exploit not only workers but also our Mother Nature. Because clothes shops put new clothes on the market very often, it is very easy to see them make clothes fast. Instead of using plants to make clothes, many clothes makers use polyester to make clothes because it is cheap and easy to get.
However, this is very bad for our environment because non-degradable materials go into the sea and hurt the sea life so much. So, we must do something now to save our planet! But how? It’s super easy. Always wear something made of plants and think twice before buying new clothes. This can save your wallet and our only planet, too.
